Kaiser Permanente "will become Boulder B-cycle's first presenting sponsor, providing significant funding to secure long-term sustainability for the program," the program said in a statement.

Boulder will have a total of 38 bike-share stations and 280 bikes by July.

"Today's announcement really serves as a re-launch of Boulder B-cycle," said James Waddell, executive director of Boulder B-cycle. "By July 2014, our program will have more than tripled in size since our founding in 2011."

"Kaiser Permanente is honored to serve as the presenting sponsor of Boulder B-cycle," said Donna Lynne, DrPH, president of Kaiser Permanente Colorado. "Incorporating movement, such as biking to work or school, in everyday life has a huge impact on overall health. The Boulder B-cycle program makes it easy for community members to see bicycling as an affordable and healthy transportation option."

Memberships for Boulder B-cycle can be purchased online and 24-hour access passes on-site at each sharing station.
