Body Pulled From Arkansas River In Fremont County

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a 63-year-old man died after he apparently fell out of his inflatable kayak in the Arkansas River in western Fremont County.

Sheriff's Capt. Don Pinover says rescue crews recovered the Saguache County man's body after they were called to the scene at about 11:30 a.m. Monday. The man, whose name and hometown have not been released, was wearing a helmet, a life jacket and a wet suit.

Investigators believe he launched an inflatable kayak in the Salida area. It's unclear how the man ended up in the water.
