Body Found On McClure Pass
PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The body of a man who was camping on McClure Pass in Pitkin County was found on Monday morning. Authorities are investigating what happened leading up to the man's death.
About 7 a.m. Monday, a person driving on a rural road at the top of McClure Pass on Highway 33, saw someone who appeared to be injured and called for help.
When the Pitkin County Sheriff's deputy and an ambulance arrived, they found the man was deceased. He appeared to be using the area as a short-term campsite near the highway.
Gunnison and Pitkin County Sheriff's Offices are working cooperatively on the investigation since the location was near the border of the two counties.
The identity of the deceased and manner of death remain under investigation.
