Body Found In Collbran Confirmed To Be Berthoud Teen

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Authorities have confirmed that the body found in western Colorado last week was that of a missing woman from Berthoud.

The body of 18-year-old Ashley Doolittle was found Friday in Collbran in the pickup truck of her ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Tanner Flores of Berthoud. The Larimer County coroner said Sunday that her death was a homicide and that she died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports Flores is being held in the Mesa County jail and is expected to be transferred to Larimer County. It's not known if he has an attorney yet.

Doolittle was reported missing on Thursday. Investigators said her family told them that she recently ended a yearlong relationship with Flores and he was distraught over the breakup.
