Body Found At Popular Park In Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A body was found at a popular park in Englewood on Saturday and now police are investigating what they call a suspicious death.

The body was found by a passerby near Big Dry Creek in Belleview Park at approximately 6:30 a.m. It's near Pirate's Cove Water Park.

Police were called by the passerby to check on the person's condition. When an officer pulled the body out of the creek he realized the person was deceased.

It's not clear how long the body was in the creek. Police have not said if the body belongs to a male or female or the manner of death, just that it's suspicious.

No other details have been released, but police did say the body is not that of a 19-year-old woman who has been missing since earlier in the month and whose friend has been arrested on a first degree murder charge.
