Body Discovered In Trunk During Visit To Parolee

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- Parole officers were making an unannounced visit to parolee David Wayne Batty when they discovered the body of a woman stuffed into a trunk in his apartment.

Homicide detectives were called to the multi-family home on the 1400 block of 9th Ave in Greeley shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday and arrested Batty, 53.

The woman's identity isn't known yet.

Greeley police say Batty has a history of domestic violence but additional details, including Batty's mug shot, aren't being released during the investigation.

Several families with children live in the same residence. It's not known how long the unidentified woman was in the trunk or if the case is related to any missing person's cases.
