Colorado Lawmakers Try To Lure BLM Headquarters

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4)- There is an effort to move the Bureau of Land Management headquarters from Washington, DC out West.

Officials on the Western Slope are working on a proposal to get the agency to move to Mesa County instead of the Front Range.

State lawmakers have already introduced a bill that would allow the move from the East Coast.

The Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado hopes the proposal will convince BLM to make its home in Colorado.
