Blake Street Bridge Open At 38th Avenue

DENVER (CBS4)- The new Blake Street Bridge opened at 38th Avenue in Denver on Thursday.

The bridge is designed to keep pedestrians and bicyclists safe.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said the neighborhood is important to him and the city.

"This is an area of town that I have made a priority in my administration. This is what what we call 'The Corridor of Opportunity' so when you hear us refer to it, you know what we're talking about from Union Station to all the way out to DIA," said Hancock.

The new bridge is part of a project that will improve a quarter-mile stretch of Blake Street.
