Best Places To Take Your Holiday Photos In Denver

To make your family holiday portrait memorable and unique, try taking it at one of Denver's many landmarks. Holiday decorations have gone up all over the city, and there are also plenty of areas with stunning views of the metro area's most well known scenery. If you're hiring a professional photographer or taking the photos yourself, you can turn any one of Denver's many landmarks into a holiday portrait that communicates your personality. Capture a piece of the city in your photo at one of the following locations.

Union Station

Since its renovation, Union Station has regained its status as a must-see destination. Its interior features some of the city's oldest architectural detailing, and it captures the feel of a classic train station. During the holidays, the lobby is decked out with a giant tree and tons of ornate decorations. You and your family will have a lot of locations within the station to take pictures, both festive and unique. While you're there, you can also peruse some shops for gifts and eat out at one of the restaurants in Union Station.

If you want a holiday photo that is colorful and pretty, go to Blossoms of Light at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Gardens are decked out with gorgeous lights and displays. Along the path, there are many beautiful photo ops at which you can create a lovely picture. The Chatfield Farms location in Littleton also hosts a holiday event called Trails of Light, which features a tree farm and several rustic locations at which you can take your photo.

Although Red Rocks Park isn't typically decked out for the holidays, it's still an excellent backdrop for a Colorado themed holiday photo. Along with the world-famous amphitheater, the park also includes trails and other scenic areas with views of the foothills. You and your family can make a day of it by snapping a photo, taking a hike and venturing into Morrison for a meal at one of its restaurants. Your family members will love the beautiful views, and if you really want to make it festive, bring some holiday sweaters.

Each year, Skyline Park transforms into a festive winter wonderland, with a Christmas tree, an ice skating rink and plenty of decorations. Located in the heart of Downtown, this location will add some urban style to your portrait. It's also an excellent backdrop for photos taken in the day or at night. Once your photos are taken, you can spend the day shopping and eating all over 16th Street, or you can rent some skates for $2 and enjoy the ice rink.

Another one of Denver's most well known and historic landmarks, the Brown Palace is a lovely backdrop for a holiday photo. Its lobby features stunning decor, including a large Christmas tree, its decked out chandelier and a staircase full of poinsettias. While you're there, you can also enjoy brunch or take a tour and learn more about Denver's history. The hotel is located near 16th Street Mall, so you can go capture some more photos of the lights around the city, or you can go down Broadway and take a look at the City and County building, which is also lit up this time of year.
