Beaver Creek Fire Continues To Smolder Despite Snow

WALDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Fire officials in Northern Colorado are keeping tabs on how much snow falls there as a wildfire continues to burn months after it started.

The Beaver Creek Fire broke out on June 19 near the Colorado-Wyoming border and the battle to contain it took months.

One residence was destroyed.

There has been active smoke at the fire within the past week. Despite recent snowfall, there has not been enough moisture to put out the fire.

Authorities announced in August that the fire was human-caused. A juvenile has been charged with starting the wildfire that has burned 38,000 acres near Walden.
