Bear Being Fed By Springs Woman Put Down After Returning To Home

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Officers euthanized a bear that was being fed by a woman in Colorado Springs.

Last week Jo Ann Medina was arrested for leaving food for the animals in her backyard. Wildlife officers think she had been doing it at least five years.

Surveillance video caught six to 10 bears going to the house for food in the beginning of the month. One of them returned last week and was caught. It had previously been tagged so it was put down this time.

Officers will keep watching the house until all the bears are caught. Only the bears that have been tagged twice before will be put down.
