Bank Robber Hits Third Bank On Wednesday

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police are hunting for a bank robber who pulled his third heist in three months.

On Wednesday, he robbed the Bank of the West at Interstate 225 and Yale Avenue.

Police aren't sure if the robber, who was described as "peaceful" by police, left in a getaway car. Witnesses told police they didn't see him leave. He never showed a weapon.

"He hasn't done anything dangerous, but that could change in an instant. We'd like to get this guy off the streets," Sgt. Chris Amsler said.

In June and July, the suspect is believed to have robbed another Bank of the West less than a mile from police headquarters. Police said they think he may live near the banks.

He is white, approximately 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 8, with a medium build and a beard. He's believed to be in his 20s. Security footage shows him wearing a baseball hat and dark sunglasses.
