Ballots Mailed Across Colorado: 'Don't Wait Until The Last Minute'
DENVER (CBS4) - Ballots were placed in the mail on Monday, addressed to voters across Colorado. Voters were urged not to wait until the last minute.
The ballots should show up in mailboxes this week. Some three million ballots will be mailed out across Colorado.
This is the first election that all registered voters in Colorado can vote my mail in a presidential election.
Those who choose to mail in the ballot instead of dropping it off will need 68 cents postage, or two "Forever" stamps. All ballots must be signed.
"The Postal Service is proud to be a part of the vote-by-mail process in Colorado," said acting USPS Colorado/Wyoming District Manager Rick Pivovar in a statement. "Having worked closely with state election officials throughout the last year, the Postal Service is fully prepared to deliver ballots in a timely manner."

Officials say the ballot should be in the mail no later than Nov. 1 to allow for processing and tabulation in order to arrive at the election office by Election Day.
"Don't wait until the last minute if you're going to mail your ballot back. The postmark doesn't count, that's something really important," David Rupert with the U.S. Postal Service said.
According to state law, a postmark doesn't count. The ballot must be received by the County Clerk on or before 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 to be counted.
Voters can cast ballots early and drop it off in person on Oct. 24 or drop it off at any 24-hour drop box starting Oct. 17 through Election Day Nov. 8.
