Avs 'Want This Tough Stretch To Be Done'

DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Avalanche hope to have starting goalie Semyon Varlamov back in net for Tuesday night's game against the Florida Panthers.

The Avs won their first six games last season, surprising everybody. This year after six games they have just one win, which is equally surprising

Even though they've been missing their two top goalies the team is looking to step it up at home against the Panthers.

"We believe in ourselves. If we don't believe in ourselves, who else will," Avs captain Gabriel Landeskog said. "It's not like we've lost 16 in a row, but certainly I think we've got to change something."

"We do know that there's an urgency and desperation even though it is early in the season," forward Jerome Iginla said. "We want this tough stretch to be done and start getting on a good one."

The puck drops at 7 p.m. at the Pepsi Center.
