Avoid Peak Travel Times, Arrive Early To Get Through TSA Security

DENVER (CBS4)- The Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to be a busy one at Denver International Airport. Between May 24 and May 30 more than one million people will make their way through DIA.

In addition to all TSA security checkpoints in operation, security staff are using K9s as well.

The peak travel times through the weekend are from 5 a.m. until 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. through Memorial Day.

DIA officials recommend arriving at the airport two to three hours before your flight departure time.

The long lines are attributed to a nationwide decrease in TSA agent and an increase in airline travel.
