Colorado Avalanche Danger Remains High Across Much Of Rocky Mountain Range In Colorado

(CBS4) - The Colorado Avalanche Information Center wants backcountry riders to know conditions are very dangerous right now. Their map which illustrates levels of risk shows high danger levels in a majority of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Experts say avalanches are breaking in wide sections, up to a half of a mile.

They ask everyone to stick to inbounds skiing and riding for now.

The warning comes after one backcountry tourer died in an avalanche in Jackson County on Christmas Eve.
