Aurora Residents Return Home To Find Storm Damage, Flooding

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- People living in the eastern part of Aurora were right in the path of a severe storm that brought hail, heavy rain, strong winds and flash flooding to the area on Wednesday afternoon.

Hail pummeled several neighborhoods that quickly melted and then left hail pellets floating atop standing water.

Several drivers got stuck in the flood waters and had to be pushed out.

In some neighborhoods, golf carts fitted with big blades drove along sidewalks and driveways, clearing piles of hail away.

At the East Mobile Home Park near Airport Boulevard and Colfax Avenue water rushed along the ditch.

"We were just hearing the sirens on the radio, there was a lot of people pulled over. The hail was... it was scary. I thought that was it for me," said one Aurora resident.
