Aurora Police Officers Cleared In Shooting Where 30+ Shots Fired

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- The officers involved in a shooting where they fired more than 30 times at a suspect holding a shotgun have been cleared.

According to the Aurora Sentinel the Adams County District Attorney has cleared the officers in the December 2013 shooting.

Police were called to the home on Dec. 15, 2013, on reports of a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, officers found Stephen Adams standing in the yard with a shogun.

Four officers opened fire on Adams, 48, when they say he pointed the gun at them. Those officers fired 33 shots at Adams. One bullet struck him in the leg but he didn't have any life-threatening injuries.

The Adams County DA has determined the officers were justified in the shooting.
