Aurora Police Capture Suspect In Officer-Involved Shooting

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Aurora captured the suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting that happened just after 11 p.m. Friday night.

A suspect reportedly drove away after Aurora police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near East Colfax Avenue and Yosemite Street.

An officer later spotted the suspect vehicle in the 5100 block of North Havana Street.

Police tried cornering the person but he hit a patrol car.

Authorities say officers then fired at the suspect who still managed to get away. After a short chase police stopped the suspect at 56th Avenue and Tucson Street.

The man, identified as Jeff Strouse, 51, is now in custody after being treated for minor injuries.

No officers were hurt in the incident.
