Aurora Police Arrest 1 After Standoff

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A man wanted for attempted murder surrendered to police early Sunday morning after an hours-long standoff at an apartment building.

At approximately 2 a.m. at the Silverbrook Apartments at 15453 East First Avenue, Aurora police responded to a report of a fight and an armed man in a parking lot. When police arrived, a man told them he was struck by another man carrying a shotgun who then ran into an apartment.

Police evacuated surrounding apartments and ordered the apartment's occupants to exit. Four complied, police said, but the suspect did not.

At 4:30 a.m., the Aurora police SWAT shot a foam round through the suspect's window. Three people, including the suspect, exited. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police haven't released the suspect's name.
