Missing Aurora Boy Liam Sweezey Found Safe In California, Amber Alert Deactivated

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A missing boy from Aurora has been found safe. An Amber Alert had been issued for 12-year-old Liam Sweezey on Saturday.

The pair were found near Compton, California by the California Highway Patrol last night. They had been seen in Barstow, California, on Sunday.

According to Aurora Police, Liam was in good condition. He's now in protective custody.

His mother Nikki was arrested and charges are pending.

Police say his mother picked him up on Friday and did not return to their home.

"His mother, Nikki Sweezey, is currently homeless but has ties to Colorado Springs," Aurora Police said in a Saturday tweet.
