Investigators say a male was assaulting family members.

Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz says this was the most violent fight he's ever seen in his 35 year career. He said that while talking to reporters Tuesday night after viewing body camera video worn by his officers.

Metz says his officer's body camera video shows a 230 pound man choking another man inside an apartment near Havana Street.

Police say the fight continued outside of the apartment where the suspect grabbed a baton and got in a "tug of war" with the baton. Metz says that's when the suspect then choked one of his officers. Officers deployed tasers.

The man became unresponsive and Aurora police say officers performed life-saving measures. The man was rushed to the hospital where he died a short time later.
