Aurora crash causing serious injuries caused temporary road closure

Aurora police temporarily closed the intersection of East Smoky Hill Road and South Chambers Road late Wednesday morning as officers investigated a major crash.

According to authorities, three vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened around 9:55 a.m. Two people were reportedly taken to local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries.

The Aurora Police Department shut down traffic in all directions at the intersection while officers investigated the scene. They reopened the roadway Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.
