Attorney General Suthers To Run For Colorado Springs Mayor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado Attorney General John Suthers says he will run for mayor of his hometown of Colorado Springs.

The election will be in April of next year. The current mayor in Colorado Springs, Steve Bach, has not decided if he will seek re-election.

Suthers says he's running no matter what.

"I decided that running for mayor was the most challenging opportunity, and frankly the one that had the most potential to positively impact my community, Colorado Springs, and future generations of Colorado Springs residents," Suthers said. "I love Colorado Springs, I've lived there all my life."

Suthers will leave the attorney general's office at the end of the year due to term limits.
