Snowmass $6.50 Lift Ticket Advance Sales Stopped

PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Aspen Snowmass is cutting back on a special lift ticket deal because of overwhelming response.

The resort sold $6.50 lift tickets to celebrate its 50th birthday on Dec. 15. More than 12,000 tickets were sold before the resort decided to cut off advance sales.

According to the Aspen Times, the resort is worried about overcrowding.

Skiers and boarders can still snag the deal by buying the lift ticket "day of" or by booking a lodging package.
