After Armed Robbery At Target, Suspect Dies In Arvada Officer-Involved Shooting

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - An officer-involved shooting in Arvada is under investigation. Police said it happened early Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Kipling Street and Interstate 70 in the southern part of the city.

People are asked to avoid the area.

Officials told CBS4 it started out as an armed robbery at a Target in Wheat Ridge and ended up near the American Motel in Arvada with officers trying to contact the suspect. That suspect was shot and injured and no officers were hurt.

So far it's not clear what was stolen from the Target.
