Arvada Man Pleads Guilty To DUI In Fatal Crash

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — An Arvada man has pleaded guilty to charges from a crash that killed a 65-year-old man.

The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office says 23-year-old Zachary Snyder pleaded guilty Monday to driving under the influence, vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.

He faces up to 18 years in prison at his March 12 sentencing hearing.

Prosecutors say Snyder's blood-alcohol content was 0.304, almost four times the legal limit, at the time of the October 2012 collision in the northwest Denver suburb of Westminster.

Authorities say he turned left in front of another car, and the collision killed Kenneth Mortensen, who was a passenger in a car driven by his wife, Karin Mortenson.

Karin Mortenson suffered serious injuries.
