Jennie Pitts created a painting called "Avery's Lion" after learning her former camp counselor had a brain tumor. Her friend fought cancer for almost one year before succumbing. Pitts sold 600 prints of her lion painting, raising $15,000.

On Monday she gave that money to Children's Hospital and also handed out 300 prints to young cancer patients.

She said lions have always had significance to her because of her faith.
