Army's Top Enlisted Soldier Wraps Up Visit To Springs

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - The top enlisted soldier in the Army is wrapping up a visit to Colorado Springs.

Sgt. Maj. of the Army Daniel A. Dailey attended a conference on military education and met with soldiers at Fort Carson and Peterson Air Force Base. His visit began Sunday and ends Wednesday.

The sergeant major of the Army advises the chief of staff on matters that affect enlisted soldiers. The job sometimes involves testifying before Congress on pay and other issues.

Dailey is the 15th person to hold the job. He took over in January.
