Apparent Prowler Shot, Killed After Forcing His Way Into Home
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police are investigating a deadly shooting at a home near the intersection of Winona Court and Floyd Avenue.
Police responded overnight to a call of what they say was a prowler who forced his way into a home in the 3300 block of South Winona Court.
Officers found the suspected prowler with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
Detectives are still investigating, but no one has been arrested. The man who shot the intruder is a former police officer.
The name of the person who died has not been released.
