Antonio Smith Says He Trusts He'll Be Cleared

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Defensive end Antonio Smith says he's confident he'll be cleared of any wrongdoing in a criminal sexual complaint against him in Texas.

Smith missed OTAs and minicamp after news of the complaint surfaced in May, a month after signing a one-year, $2 million deal in Denver.

GM John Elway said the Broncos allowed Smith to return because he's neither been arrested nor charged.

Smith said he's confident he'll be with the Broncos all season: "I have faith in the end it's going to be all right."

Smith said he was thrilled to be back on the field, too, saying, "I love football. I love my teammates more than I love the game. To be away from them was definitely a hard situation."
