Another Sex Assault By Man Posing As Professional Driver Reported

DENVER (CBS4) - A man who police believe is posing as a professional car driver sexually assaulted a woman in March.

The victim and another woman, both visiting Denver from Wyoming, took a shuttle from their hotel to a concert. When the show ended, they waited by a restaurant at the Pepsi Center for their shuttle. When it didn't arrive, they accepted a ride from a black SUV that they believed was a car service.

When one of the women exited the car at the hotel, the driver said to the other woman, "You're beautiful. I'm here for you."

She said, according to police, "Get me out of here. What do I do? Get me out of here."

He then drove her to a parking lot behind the hotel and assaulted her.

CBS4 learned about this incident on the heels of a second sexual assault of a woman on Oct. 24. In that case, the driver picked up the woman in the 1600 block of Market Street in Lower Downtown. He drove her to a bank, where she withdrew money. He then drove to near her home where he parked and assaulted her. Police described the car as a town car that is silver, gold or tan.

The Denver Police Department released details about that assault on Monday. It's unclear if the assault in March is related.

"We feel  if someone is out there posing to be a professional driver and doing something this terrible, then we need to do the best we can to correct it," Metro Cab president Robert McBride.
