An Examination Of Frontier Airlines' Recent Staff Reductions

DENVER (CBS4) - Frontier Airlines has cut more employees than any major airline in the country in the past four years.

The Denver-based airline has made staff reductions of 44.4 percent over the past four years, from nearly 5,000 employees to 2,776 now, and it's down 27.6 percent just since last year.

Most airlines in the United States have increased staffing by 3.3 percent over the last year.

UA Airways' merger with American Airlines has made American the largest carrier, with more than 96,000 employees. Delta is second largest, followed by United and Southwest Airlines.
