Amber Alert deactivated after 3 Colorado children found safe

An Amber Alert was issued Saturday for three children taken by their mother, who the Colorado Bureau of Investigation described as their "non-custodian parent." It was later deactivated after police said they were found safe.

The children's mother is now in custody and facing charges of violating a protective order and abducting her children.

Justena Tomasino, 30, was arrested Saturday afternoon after other family members, who have legal custody of the three children, called police to report them missing, according to Brighton police. She was arrested in Colorado Springs just over an hour after the Amber Alert went out.

Formal charges in Saturday's alleged abduction have not yet been filed.
