Teenage girl dies in rollover crash with stolen SUV on I-225 in Aurora, multiple teens hurt

A deadly rollover crash involving teenagers in a stolen SUV shut down I-225 northbound at the Alameda exit on Saturday morning. The SUV was reportedly stolen in Denver in the past week prior to the crash.

Aurora police say there were five teens in a stolen Kia SUV, and four of them were taken to the hospital, some with life-threatening injuries. In an update, police confirmed a 15-year-old girl died from her injuries.

APD's Traffic Unit responded to the crash and is conducting the crash investigation

In an update, Aurora PD confirmed everyone in the SUV was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. One of the teens involved did not have to be taken to the hospital, and they were released to guardians.

All of the teenagers involved in the crash were under 18 years old, which by state law required them to be with an adult while driving.

Police had not determined who was driving the stolen vehicle on Saturday.
