Air Force Academy Cadet Sentenced For Drug Use, Distribution

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (CBS4) — An Air Force Academy cadet who pleaded guilty to dealing prescription and illegal drugs to fellow students was sentenced on Wednesday.

Nathaniel Penalosa was sentenced to 42 months of confinement, dismissal and total forfeiture of all pay and allowances as part of a pretrial agreement.

Penalosa pleaded guilty to illegal use, distribution and introduction on a military base of LSD, Modafinil, and Methlyenedioxy-methanphetamine (Molly) and manufacture of Molly.

Because of the pretrial agreement the confinement was capped at three years.

Penalosa is a former airman who earned the Air Force Achievement Medal.
