Adams State University Bans Hoverboards On Campus

ALAMOSA, Colo. (CBS4)- Adams State University is the latest place to ban hoverboards on campus.

The university in Alamosa made the announcement on Friday and said the ban was effective immediately. The school made the decision on the advice of its insurer because of the hoverboards fire potential.

The ban includes hoverboards, Skagways, IO Hawks, Skywalkers and all similar devices and extends to all buildings and athletic venues on campus.

The University of Colorado in Boulder announced their ban on Thursday. At CU, hoverboards will still be allowed on campus sidewalks, but if someone crashes into a pedestrian the school warns the hoverboard driver could get a ticket for inattentive driving.
