911 Outage Affects Eastern Arapahoe County, Adams County

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A widespread 911 outage impacted people living in eastern areas of Arapahoe County and some areas of Adams County on Thursday afternoon.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Communication Center learned about the outage about 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Affected communities include Byers, Deer Trail, Strasburg and Bennett.

Both Bijou Telephone Cooperative and Eastern Slope Rural Telephone Association are aware of the 911 outage. What caused the outage is being investigated.

Until service is restored those needing assistance from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office should call 303.795.4711. Those needing assistance from the Adams County Sheriff's Office should call the Adams County Communications Center at 303.288.1535.

It is unclear how many customers are impacted. There is no estimate on when 911 service will be restored.
