82-Year-Old Broomfield Man Wanted By Metal Band After TV Performance

DENVER (CBS4) - An 82-year-old man from Broomfield is impressing the country after he sang metal band Drowning Pool's hit song "Bodies" during his appearance on the new season of America's Got Talent.

John Hetlinger, a former Navy pilot and aerospace engineer who worked on the instrument that repaired the Hubble Space Telescope, entered center stage in his khakis and white button up Tuesday night.

When asked why he decided to come on the show, Hetlinger said, "This would be the high point of my life and many careers."

Then he blew the crowd away with a passionate, heavy metal performance, complete with enraged screaming.

On their social media pages, Drowning Pool praised Hetlinger and invited him to join them any time.

TMZ now reports that the band's guitarist is trying to track down the older man to join them in Chicago for the Open Air Festival in July.
