7 Train Cars Derail In Elbert County, Spill Coal

LIMON, Colo. (CBS4)- Seven train cars carrying coal derailed in Elbert County on Thursday.

The derailment happened along Interstate 70 about six miles west of Limon.

The Union Pacific train was traveling from Colorado to Texas when seven cars derailed, five of them ended up on their side and spilled coal.

Crews are cutting out the damaged rails and stockpiling the coal.

No one was hurt in the derailment. What caused the derailment is being investigated.
