6th Avenue To Close This Weekend From I-25 To Sheridan

DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Department of Transportation will be closing 6th Avenue over the weekend from Interstate 25 to Sheridan Boulevard to work on bridges.

The project will replace five bridges between Knox Court and I-25 that are considered obsolete.

The entire cost of the project is $98 million. The work was originally slated to begin last week but had to be delayed because of winter weather.

After the closures and detours drivers will enjoy safer roads and hopefully an easier commute.

Drivers are encouraged to use Highway 285, I-70 or C-470 as detours until 6th Avenue reopens.
