50 Degree Temp Swing For Some This Weekend

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - Get ready for a wild ride in the temperature department over the next several days.

You can thank battling air masses and dry air which heats up and cools down quickly.

A cold front pushed through eastern Colorado early Friday with another surge of cooler air arriving late afternoon or early evening.

By Saturday morning many places will see the coldest temperatures they've seen in several weeks.

Most of northeast Colorado will drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s by sunrise on Saturday!

A portion of northwest Colorado has been placed under a freeze warning between 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday which means an end to the growing season is expected.

But the cool down won't last long with summer temperatures returning by Sunday when highs in Denver will be around 90 degrees, which is a roughly 50 degree swing from where temperatures will bottom out Saturday morning.

Then another cold front will arrive sometime on Monday bringing a chance for some rain and sending temperature down by 20 to 30 degrees.
