50 Coloradans Happy To Say They're Now Officially U.S. Citizens

DENVER (CBS4) - Colorado has 50 new U.S. citizens.

The group was sworn in at the History Colorado Center on Wednesday. The new U.S. citizens came from 26 different countries, including Australia, Ghana, China and Thailand.

For Nat Suwantala, becoming a U.S. citizen was a family affair. She said her daughter helped her through the journey.

"She is the one who is helping me. She's helped me a lot to help me study all 100 questions," Suwantala said.

It was one of 180 naturalization ceremonies taking place across the country during the President's Day week. In all more than 19,000 people will become U.S. citizens.
