5 Teens Accused In Sex Assault Won't Be Charged As Adults

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — Prosecutors say five teenage boys arrested in the sexual assault of a high school student at an Englewood party will not be charged as adults.

Prosecutors made the announcement Tuesday after a sixth suspect, 19-year-old Daylon Hill, made a brief court appearance. Hill is charged with sexual assault, child sex assault and other crimes in the Jan. 25 attack.

Police say a girl told them she was drunk and agreed to have sex with one of the teens before he, Hill and four others assaulted her on a backyard trampoline. Police say the attack continued until the mother of one of the teens called for him to come into the house. The girl collected her clothing and called a relative.

Hill's Tuesday preliminary hearing was continued at the request of his public defender.
