Broncos Acquire Tight End Vernon Davis In Trade With 49ers

DENVER (CBS4) - John Elway says veteran tight end Vernon Davis will be joining the Denver Broncos after a trade was made with the 49ers.

Davis, a two-time Pro Bowler for San Francisco, will "be a valuable addition to our team with his experience and leadership," the Broncos GM said in a tweet.

Davis joins an undefeated Broncos squad that already includes tight ends Owen Daniels and Virgil Green, both who had big games against the Packers on Sunday.

Green and Daniels combined for 105 yards receiving. Each had three receptions in the 29-10 win Sunday night.

Elway didn't state what the Broncos will give up in exchange for Davis, but the Associated Press reported they will provide late-round draft picks.
