3rd Suspect Arrested, 1 On The Loose After Robbing 7-Eleven Stores

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of robberies involving at least six businesses Monday morning in a crime spree targeting 7-Elevens and an e-cigarette shop. Police continue to search for one more suspect.

Police in Denver said they arrested the third suspect late Tuesday night in the 600 block of E. 49th.

Surveillance video from Monday morning shows the beginning of a 3-hour crime spree that spanned three counties, several businesses, and five 7-Elevens.

"That's a lot of locations to hit in a short amount of time," said Cheri Spottke from the Westminster Police Department.

At about 2:15 a.m., two juveniles broke into a Westminster e-cigarette store. A teen in a red shirt is seen on video shattering the glass case with a hammer and emptying the shelves.

The other teen wearing a ski mask tried to kick through the glass, then filled his arms with products and raced from the store.

After leaving that store, police say the teens and two other suspects committed armed robberies at five 7-Elevens, three in Denver, one in Adams County and one in Westminster.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
