Daughter Hugs Daddy During Fort Carson Welcome Home Ceremony

FORT CARSON, Colo. (CBS4)- Some 300 soldiers deployed overseas were welcomed home to Fort Carson on Tuesday. And one little girl couldn't wait to hug her dad.

The first group arrived around 6 a.m. and the other one about 1 p.m. Both groups had been deployed in Asia.

One little girl couldn't wait until the welcome home ceremony was over to hug her dad. She ran out during the middle of the ceremony and gave her dad a hug. Then she ran back across the auditorium to wait with the rest of her family.

The returning troops say they're looking forward to some family time.

"I've got some plans, a little surprise for her," said one soldier.

"We do have an anniversary coming up here. Married since 1997 so we're looking forward to that as well," said one soldier.
