3 Handguns Stolen During Vehicle Break-Ins In Garfield County

PARACHUTE, Colo. (CBS4)- Three handguns were taken overnight during several vehicle break-ins in Garfield County.

The Garfield County Sheriff's Office said between Aug. 3 and early Aug. 4 at least eight vehicles were broken into during the night in seven different locations outside of Parachute.

All of the vehicles targeted had been unlocked. Some of the property stolen included three handguns.

The Garfield County Sheriff's Office said everyone should be wary and take precautions to make sure their vehicle is not targeted. Deputies also suggest that all valuables be taken inside and not left in a vehicle overnight.

Investigators believe the thieves may target the same neighborhood again.
