3 Escape Boat Fire On Horsetooth Reservoir

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters in Larimer County put out a boat fire on Horsetooth Reservoir Sunday.

According to the Poudre Fire Authority, firefighters responded to the boat fire and had it under control just before 12:30 p.m.

Three people on board the boat were able to evacuate to another nearby boat. One person suffered light smoke inhalation.

"They had just put the boat in the water for the first time this season and were en route from the marina. Motoring out slowly, they reported hearing a pop in the engine compartment," Madeline Noblett with Poudre Fire Authority said in a statement.

The boat is a total loss.
