3 DPD Officers Honored For Going Above & Beyond Call Of Duty

DENVER (CBS4)- Three Denver Police officers were honored Wednesday with the Citizens Appreciate Police Award.

They were recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Officer Joshua Vasconcellos was recognized for buying bicycles for children in the Belmont Trailer Park.

Officer Tarl Spitzer was honored for helping a blind homeless man who was stranded at a truck stop. Spitzer found a place for the man to stay and paid for the room out of his own pocket.

Cpl. Joseph Sartain helped a disabled woman facing eviction. He set up a bank account for the woman with his own money and arranged for automatic payment for her rent and other bills.
